I am frequently (usually in a very panicked voice) asked “What should we wear?!” in reference to family portrait sessions. I always tell my clients that it’s really up to them and what their family feels comfortable in. Which inevitably results in my lovely clients all pushing the easy button… white or black shirts, denim and flip flops for all! Oh dear. lol
So I thought it would be fun to have a revolving set of inspiration for upcoming photo sessions.
This week, I’m focusing on family portraits as I’ve gotten several calls and messages about the upcoming fall photo season. This week’s W2WW (What to Wear Wednesday) would also make for a super fun boy/girl outfit combo for an engagement session!
I encourage you to step outside of the boring matchy-matchy (and white shirt/jeans) combo and seek out lots of fun colors and textures for your next photo session. What you wear can make or break your images. Take your upcoming photo session to the next level and show off your family’s killer style!

All of these lovely items can be found at Old Navy (minus Dad’s shoes which can be found at Piperlime).
Hi friends! It’s been a crazy (definitely a good crazy) few months at Marinda Fowler Photography. Needless to say, my poor little bloggie has been neglected. I’ve had the pleasure of photographing some recent weddings, and I want to share some of my fave shots with you all!
I apologize now for the super long post! It’s really hard to pick just a few images from a wedding day to share on a blog. Multiply that times six and well, that’s a big blog post!
Danielle + Will | May 21, 2011
Danielle and Will were married amongst their friends and family in Salem, Indiana. I have completely fallen head over hills for these two and their love for each other. It was such a beautiful day and I am honored to have been a part of it.
Chris + Sara | June 11, 2011
Chris and Sara were married on a beautiful day amongst their friends and family at the lovely Chateau de Pique winery in Seymour, Indiana. I have photographed this family (and a handful of their family members!) several times over the last year and have quickly grown quite fond of this group! I loved all the simple but elegant details that went into their wedding. I’m so happy to have been chosen to photograph their day.
Tannor + Kelsie | June 25, 2011
Tannor and Kelsie were married at dusk at Hardy Lake in Scottsburg, Indiana amongst their friends and family. They had one of the most beautiful and touching ceremonies I have ever had the privilege of attending. There were several times that I got all teary-eyed during my time at their wedding. So much love from everyone involved. I was honored to be there to capture it all.

Jamie + Trent | July 2, 2011
Jamie and Trent were married in Brownstown, Indiana on one of the hottest days of the year! They didn’t let a little humidity keep them and their guests from having a great day! This was definitely a very fun loving group and I had a blast with them. What’s not to love about vintage Jeeps, candy bars and fireworks?! I was so happy to have been their to document all the special details that went into their day.

Justin + Cynthia | July 23, 2011
Justin and Cynthia were married in North Vernon, Indiana on a warm summer day amongst their friends and family. They had their reception in the old Ashcraft’s furniture store in Seymour (which has since been purchased by the Knights of Columbus). I was super excited to photograph a reception in their venue. Such a sweet couple with lots of love from their family and friends. I loved all of the details that went into their day and was thrilled to be there to photograph them all.

Heather + Scott | August 6, 2011
Heather and Scott were married in Scottsburg, Indiana amongst their family and friends. Heather was an absolutely stunning bride that was the truly filled with joy on her wedding day. From dancing out of the ceremony to special spoons, it was such a fun and love-filled (did I just make that word up!?) day! I was honored to be there to photograph their day.
